The North Cyprus Motorsport Federation (KKTOK) has officially launched a disciplinary investigation into the incident that occurred during the first round of the NEU Drift Championship on March 15th. Following consultations between the event organizers and the federation, the case involving Ibrahim Yücebaş and Dutch driver Rhone Zwanenburg has been referred to the disciplinary board for a final ruling.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM KKTOK DISCIPLINARY BOARD
The Chairman of the KKTOK Disciplinary Board, Selin Reis, released an official statement regarding the ongoing process. The full original statement is as follows:
"NEU Drift Championship is still dealing with the matter of INCIDENT – which happened on MARCH 15th – NEU Drift Round 1 between İbrahim Yücebaş Vs Rhone Zwanenburg. The racing matter has been already dealt with between the organisation and the federation. KKTOK the North Cyprus motorsport Federation board of directors are now dealing with the punishment that will be awarded to İbrahim Yücebaş. The investigation by our Disciplinary Board has been launched today on 17.03.2026 and the matter will be examined thoroughly and thoroughly. The decision to be taken as a result of the investigation will be shared with relevant parties and the press."
THOROUGH INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
As specified in the official announcement, the investigation was formally opened today, March 17, 2026. The federation emphasized that the matter will be examined with the utmost scrutiny to ensure all aspects of the incident are addressed. The final decision regarding the disciplinary measures to be imposed on Ibrahim Yücebaş will be communicated to the relevant parties and the press once the board completes its evaluation.
